Phil Johnson
President

With over 20 years of experience in the construction management field, Mr. Johnson brings an extensive background of managing large construction projects, overseeing personnel, doing job costing, managing quality assurance issues and handling hazardous materials compliance.  Serving now as the company president he oversees the long range planning of the company and directing his management team on a daily basis. Customer success through SDPC services is the primary goal. His expertise also includes extensive knowledge in the coatings industry, both powder coating and liquid paint and what coatings systems offer the best long term value to SDPC clients and customers.  He is a NBPI Certified Inspector and serves as the company’s senior estimator overseeing all solicitations and proposals.

Jeff Payne
Director of Business Development

Mr. Payne has more than 30 years of experience in the Sales Management, Marketing and Business Development area.  He represents SDPC for our Commercial and Government services customers, he is well integrated in the Navy ship repair community in San Diego.  Jeff oversees the company’s sales, marketing and business development efforts across all military and commercial markets.  Jeff serves on the legislative committees for both the Port of San Diego Ship Repair Association and the San Diego Military Advisory Council.

Esmeralda Torres
Customer Service / Scheduling

Customer service manager is the primary responsibility that Ms. Torres has here at SDPC. Job scheduling and status of completion runs through her coordination.  She has extensive experience in handling our customer’s needs, and ordering our coating products.  Her workload also involves producing the daily production for the shop staff and management team. Ms. Torres also involved works with our production team in coordinating the finishing of jobs and schedules the pickup and deliveries.

Staci Hoyle
Quality Manager / Protective Coating Specialist

As our Quality Assurance Manager, Ms Hoyle has over 20 years of experience in quality & contracts management. With her many years in the Navy Ship Repair Industry, she brings a vast array of skills both in the DoD regulations area and managing proposals and solicitations. Her responsibilities at SDPC also include the scheduling of work to be performed and overseeing the surface preparation and coating applications. In addition to these responsibilities Staci also manages the company’s regulatory and safety compliance records and training.

Teri Howe
Office Manager/Accounts Payable and Receivable

Ms. Howe has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, serving in the accounting area as well as HR, AR, AP and IT Support.  In her position here as Office Manager she manages those areas including in-house payroll, overseeing invoicing and the company’s insurance programs. She has extensive experience in all these areas and has spent her career in and connected to the construction and Industrial Coatings industry. Among her many areas of expertise, Ms. Howe handles the daily needs of company management and the many special projects that come her way.

Amanda Kavanagh
Inside Sales Manager

Serving as the Inside Sales Manager, Ms. Kavanagh handles the front end of the business here at SDPC this demands the ability to multi task for a variety of different types of customers and job requirements.  In doing so she handles estimating and quoting of jobs, writing up orders and coordinating the customer’s priorities to shop personnel. She has many years of experience in the coatings industry with a special emphasis on the fence contracting side. She also brings with her a long career in the retail sales and customer service, this experience adds to her value here as a manager.  In addition, she has had many accomplishments in various personnel training seminars one of which is attending and completing the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training Course.

Michelle Simmons
Quality Assurance/Process Inspections

As the Quality Assurance Representative, Ms. Simmons oversees the documentation and reporting needs in the ever growing government regulation area.  She stays current with the NAVSEA Standard Items, oversees and manages all the test equipment calibration schedules and manages all ISO 9001 Compliance issues.  She has over 10 years of experience in the construction administration area.  Michelle also assists the company in maintaining customer relations, estimating and project management with some key customers here at SDPC along with assisting in the area of IT Support.

Lanny Cox
Operations Manager

Operations Manager Lanny Cox comes to the company with over 25 years experience in the construction and construction related purchasing and crew management.  He has an extensive background in the construction equipment and supply side of the business.  His expertise has always been in the ability to handle the challenging job of logistics, getting the right equipment to and for the right job on time. He handles all aspects of operations at SDPC, staffing, training, purchasing, and managing the many moving parts of our busy operations.  Lanny’s motto has always been “ whatever it takes, get it done and get it done right”.
