San Diego Powder & Protective Coatings offers excellent advice related to the proper coating for your projects. Our powder gallery is made up of standard powders, super durable powders, FBE Epoxy Coatings, and many more. Powder coating provides a durable finish, requires little maintenance after application, and helps to protect the material from potentially harmful environmental factors.
Standard powders are powder coating finishes our shop covers the cost for and are almost always a part of RAL collections of our vendors. Super durable coatings maintain a 5- 10-year lifespan and rate AAMA level 3 for quality. As for FBE epoxy coating, it is specified in a range of industrial use and applications; one is to protect piping for pipeline construction from corrosion.
Digital color charts are available below or see our showroom for an extended selection of physical samples.
Primer is used to strengthen the bond between the metal substrate and the powder topcoat. It is often used to prepare metal for outdoor or aquatic environments. The material in question being continually exposed to humidity, corrosive environments, or potential scratching can be a huge problem without a base layer. For example, here at SDPPC, we use Zinc, Anti gas, & Epoxy primer.
Zinc primer is a water barrier. Epoxy is used to withstand harsh UV or corrosive environments. Anti-gas are used to prevent the occurrence of outgas or pin holes in the cast-made metals. Primer slows down the speed of oxidation and makes the overall application much more consistent. To get started on your color and selection, call us today!
