CEO & President
In 2007, I returned to San Diego to take over the operations management of San Diego Powder Coating. Before 2007, and as the 2008 recession hit full force, our two separate shops primarily serviced walk-in customer projects, custom fencing companies, auto performance and restoration, and some US Navy and military support contractors.
By 2010, the majority of the custom fencing and automotive work had vanished. The focus was to improve the company's quality and system so that SDPC could be more competitive in the modern economy and obtain industry certifications.
One of the primary goals was to combine the two companies into one facility. This was accomplished in 2011 and allowed for the establishment of a more organized coatings process, improved work practices and finishes, and a more organized use of our workforce. This achievement laid the groundwork for the operations and facilities that we have today.
We have an ISO-compliant and certified QS-1 operation with a quality management system approved by NAVSEA as an AMPP-certified coatings facility. We use the work practices that result from these certifications to provide our customers with powder and liquid high-performance coatings.
My primary goal was and continues to be to establish SDPC as the preferred high-performance coating facility provider in San Diego for architectural and engineered projects requiring specification standards, military and defense projects, manufacturing customers, and homeowners seeking quality coatings.
Accounting Manager / Front Office Manager / HR Manager
I started at SDPPC in April 2009 as an A/R A/P clerk. I have 20+ years of experience in the construction field, Accounting Department, and Estimating Department.
In the 14+ years of employment at SDPPC, I was able to bring Payroll in-house, build a relationship with our Customers' AP and AR Departments for Invoicing and collections and meet with the Accountants a few times a year for bookkeeping and tax requirements.
Part of my duties consist of working with the County on Permits, the Board of Equalization for Sales tax, the yearly SWPPP documentation and submittals, and DMV requirements. My goal here is to keep SDPPC as my focus and do everything I can to help this company grow and be successful in all aspects.
I enjoy playing the piano and guitar as well as spending time with my two kids and grandchildren.
General Manager
A friend recommended that I speak with the owner of SDPC (Phil Johnson) in late September 2019; he was looking for a general manager at the time. I liked Phil's ideas and passion for taking the company to the next level through technology and efficiency after talking with him, so I joined the team on October 1st, 2019.
I've been with SDPC for three years, and we've seen steady growth. We are always looking for new and better ways to improve our workflow. My ambition is to see the company grow to its full potential.
I grew up riding and racing motorcycles, which led to my son racing, and now I look forward to the weekends my son and I golf.

I joined SDPPC in 2007, right after high school, and have learned new roles over the years, becoming an asset that has kept me here. I have been an SDPPC full-time estimator for 3 years. I enjoy winning jobs and find it fun seeing the items in a drawing come to life when the items arrive at our facility.
My goal is to continue to help the company grow and to continue to learn more about the business. Being a part of this company since Phil has been here had been awesome; we have come a long way from the good old days. I continue to be impressed and proud of how far we have come and our many accomplishments.

Customer Service Rep / Social Media Coordinator
I had just recently moved back to San Diego and started working at SDPC on April 18, 2022. I have over 4 years of experience working in the customer service field, and I ultimately wanted to try something out of my comfort zone working here.
Since then, I have begun to take on new hats, if you will, a brief description of my job includes: reviewing the completion pricing of jobs, invoicing, coordinating with customers for delivery and pick up, managing or creating our website, managing our social media, and gradually learning how to more efficiently price jobs.
I had no knowledge of the powder and protective coatings prior, but have made it my goal to absorb as much information as possible, continuously innovate, and bring new ideas to the table, all to better this company and how we service our customers.
I spend my free time painting, and reading, and love animals; I am a cat and dog mom.
